Paulette Phlipot

Paulette Phlipot is an award-winning editorial, commercial and fine-art culinary photographer, and a featured contributor and cover artist to Edible Silicon Valley. From her kitchen in Half Moon Bay, Paulette also serves up colorful, storytelling imagery as she samples cookbooks and recipes for a first taste to inspire readers to eat local and with the seasons. Her photography has graced national and regional magazines and cookbooks, and represented in her "Food as Art" photographic works collection and acclaimed fine art exhibition.

Paulette relocated with her family from the majestic mountains and farm culture of Sun Valley, Idaho, to the bountiful Bay Area coastal community of Half Moon Bay. She finds inspiration from the flourishing farms of the area and has turned her palette and lens to creating inspiring dishes and displays from her family kitchen and her local community-supported agriculture (CSA) harvest subscription boxes. Through her art, she strives to bring people closer to what they eat and to celebrate wellness.

As a genesis moment for her "Food as Art" brand and photographic works, Paulette photographed the vivid imagery found in the cookbook Ripe: A Fresh Colorful Approach to Fruits and Vegetables (Running Press, 2011) with recipes organized by produce color and featuring both still-life fruit and vegetable art and recipe photography for the dishes created by Cheryl Sternman Rule, a Bay Area author and food writer.

For Edible Silicon Valley magazine, Paulette serves up her award-winning cover art, feature photography, and runs the Edible Test Kitchen where we test and photograph recipes and DIY projects from new and notable book authors.
