New cookbook brings immune-building recipes and the power of plants to everyday nutrition.

Staying well is a fundamental concern far and wide. Uncovering ways to improve our health need not be difficult and can be quite delectable. We can harness the power of plants by combining cooking and plant-based remedies to increase nourishment and facilitate immunity. Traditional ways of adding common herbs, mushrooms and roots to everyday recipes are simpler than one may think and add oodles of flavor too!

In our search to find nourishing recipes to bolster your resilience and your body’s immune functions, we came upon Jenny McGruther’s latest book, Vibrant Botanicals: Transformational Recipes Using Adaptogens & Other Healing Herbs. McGruther shares recipes, tips and information focusing on herbs that provide flavor and beauty and healthy ways to include them in every meal. With a chapter dedicated solely to building immunity, it was not hard to find a couple of standout recipes ready for this fall’s health-reinforcing sipping and souping, complete with some unexpected ingredients that can be locally sourced. After making these recipes once, we cannot wait to make them again. We hope you enjoy them, too, and stay well this season!
