All Hail Cardamom + Chai Recipe
Green cardamom is the most widely used type, desirable because it is picked before maturity and delivers a richer flavor.
The spiced chai recipe uses green cardamom pods, fresh ginger and honey.
This Scented Chai recipe is shared with our Edible readers from the James Beard Award–winning cookbook Deepa’s Secret by San Francisco author Deepa Thomas.
Bring the water and milk to a boil in a deep saucepan.
As soon as it begins to bubble (careful not to let it boil over), remove from heat.
Add remaining ingredients, cover and steep for 4 minutes.
Strain into a warmed teacup and enjoy!
