Kristin Conard is a Santa Cruz–based travel and food writer who grew up in Kansas. She teaches at Santa Clara University, and has written for Travel + Leisure, Condé Nast Traveler, Departures, 7x7, BBC Travel, Popsugar, and chronicled some of her oh-so-delicious explorations in Edible Silicon Valley.
Kristin Conard received her undergraduate degree in English Literature from Kansas State University and wrote an award-winning book on Kansas trails (kansastrailguide.com). She received her master's degree from the University of Sussex in Brighton, England which kickstarted her love of travel writing, and fueled her curiosity for food and drink artisans that imbue a "sense of place" and history in their products and offerings. Always running, and exploring the trails along California's hills and coastline, Kristin continues to teach undergraduate students about writing and is currently working on a collection of personal essays about her adventures.
