So many of my good food moments happen at this time of year. My oven is fired back up and pots simmer with the tastes and smells that invite people to come in and come together.

This TasteMakers issue of Edible Silicon Valley brings together tastemakers who have made an enduring mark on our definition of “good” and “good for you” tastes in what we eat, drink and enjoy—from the bakeries of bread artisans to the dynamic kitchens of chefs cooking up seasonal menus with wines poured from local wineries. And like mine, their ovens and festive ideas are fired up too.

In this issue we profile four influential tastemakers of food and drink—with national and international acclaim—who impact our palate and definition of taste by expanding our choices and access to great food and drink. Their influence continues to be a tangible game-changer for how we live local, fresh and sustainably.

We’ve set the table for your own seasonal tastemaking in this issue too. Warm up your gatherings with customer-favorite local breads and recipes spiked for the season to help you entertain. Local authors have also shared recipes from their featured cookbooks, new and encore, that you can savor and share beginning on page 40. And our advertising partners, tastemakers one and all, are ready for the season to help with your menu planning, gifting, outings and dining. Love local, eat fresh.

Tastefully yours,
