This summer raise a glass to our Bay Area & South Bay local makers. Reserve some time to soak up some sun and outdoor tastings, sip on one of these refreshing craft beverages and reflect on how resilience and innovation just might best be served on the rocks. Cheers!

Ginger Lab

Root, Root, Root for Ginger

Ginger Lab is mixologist Deb Chang’s solution to the perfect Moscow Mule. Made of course with her refreshing ginger beer chock full of fresh lemon and ginger. Now, you can pick up growlers of her zingy brews at the Mountain View Farmers Market, and stir up your own sensation, with and without spirits.

Made with quality, essential ingredients, original and guava flavors are always available as releases like this summer’s White Peach and Strawberry make their seasonal debut. There’s even a ginger beer version that’s sugar-free–ooh-wee!

Juice Co. LG

A Cleanse at Your Door

Curious about juicing and cleansing? If you live within 20 miles of the downtown Los Gatos Juice Co. LG, you can get the perfect program delivered to your doorstep! You can also find their cold-pressed, raw, unpasteurized juices, wellness shots and grain bowls available for purchase à la carte.

A fresh summer start to a new you might just be a seasonal pour of their tangy, cold-pressed watermelon-strawberry-lime sipper.

Gourmonade

Lemonade with a Twist

There is nothing more satisfying than a well-earned glass of Gourmonade. Lemonade with embellishments such as basil, blueberry and strawberry is what Vicktor Stevenson is all about—and what makes for tantalizing blends of gourmet lemonade. Turning his lemonade ambitions into reality included overcoming adversity for this SF black-owned business, where Vicktor stepped up the game and the flavor when turning lemons into lemonade.

Stop in for a strawberry-lemon “Beymonade,” a mixed up a “Blueberry and Basil” brew, or what might be the classiest lemonade in town, the gold-flake-infused “24-K Gold.”

Hoptonic

Tea with a Fizzzz

After a beer and tea tasting, Hoptonic in San Carlos set out to explore whether hops taste and fermentation could cross over and brew a new effervescent tea beverage. Voila! What emerged was a line of bubby botanical tea blends–zero-sugar, zero-alcohol sparkling teas meant for summer refreshment. The Citra hops complement the floral green tea in the Sparkling Jasmine Tea and brighten the sweetness in the Sparkling Chamomile with Lavender Tea. And of course, Hoptonic’s sparkling Earl Grey Tea perks up the caffeinated tea classic too.

Sustainability is key; the teas are made using a carbon capture process and the owners go beyond to assure they are sustainably sourcing ingredients.

HMB Brewing

Moon Half Full

Breathe in the summer air as you sip a cold one at Half Moon Bay Brewing. Since 2003 the brewers here have tapped into our Bay Area love of craft beer, including their five flagship brews: Full Swing Pale, Amber Ale, Kolsch, Saison and IPA. The food’s also a catch. Try their beer-battered fish and chips, or an affogato of vanilla ice cream blanketed with their Calf-eine Coffee Milk Stout.

Look out for seasonal releases in markets or extend your Half Moon Bay weekender outing from their HQ patio with some beers on tap.
