Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) is proud to announce the second annual Taste of Santa Clara Valley, October 17, 2015, at Martial Cottle Park in San Jose. The Farm-to-Fork dinner is brought to you in partnership with Santa Clara County Parks and Epicurean Group, a food-service management company dedicated to providing healthy, sustainable food. Culinary-trained chefs will craft a multi-course meal featuring produce from local farms, artisanal products and regional wine and beer. Guests will enjoy dinner while listening to music by The Down Beets, a local band.

The event is a fundraiser for CAFF and its Farm-to-School and Farm-to-Market programs, which directly benefit regional farmers and the Santa Clara Valley community. The event venue, Martial Cottle Park, is Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department’s newest urban park. The land was continuously farmed for 150 years, until being transferred to the county and state for a park to “educate the public about the agricultural heritage of the Santa Clara Valley.” Jacobs Farm/Del Cabo, a leader in organic farming, is partnering with County Parks for a long-term organic agricultural production and education project. Guests will be invited to tour the new park.

We will be honoring Aziz Baameur with the “Family Farmer Champion of the Year” award for his dedication to providing assistance to family farmers in the Santa Clara Valley. Baameur recently retired as Farm Advisor for the UC Cooperative Extension, a position he has held for the past 30 years.
