Celebrate Local Ranching and Farming with a Casual Farm-to-Table Dinner

Live Music, Local Brews and a Talk with Doniga Markegard, Author, Rancher and Wildlife Tracker & Nancy Vail, Co-Founder of Pie Ranch

Check our event pages for updates about the menu Dinner Ticket Sales End on Sunday, January 20th

Join POST and Forager Tasting Room for an evening of delicious local food, music and learnings about the importance of ranching and farming to our local heritage and economy. This event will highlight POST’s Farmland Futures Program, which works to permanently protect thousands of acres of farm and ranch land in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

The event will be at the Forager Tasting Room and will feature a short talk and book signing by Doniga Markegard, noted rancher and author of the new book Dawn Again. Along with her husband and four children, Doniga owns and operates Markegard Family Grass-Fed, raising grass-fed beef, lamb, pastured pork and chicken supplying the Bay Area with healthy, local foods. The family leases over 10,000 acres of land in the Bay Area and works to enhance the waterways on their properties by mimicking natural systems with regenerative agriculture practices.

The program will also feature talks with Doniga and farmer Nancy Vail of Pie Ranch, an important organic farming program on the San Mateo Coast and close partner to POST. We'll also be hosting the The John H. Clarke Trio playing original acoustic music with Latin, Spanish, and American influences. Featuring John H. Clarke on guitar, Josh Mellinger on Cajon, and Rob Hansen on Violin. Listen here

Tickets to the dinner are $40 per person and include your meal, as well as your first beer from Alvarado Street Brewery (or a soda if you prefer). You will taste locally raised Markegard grass-fed beef, produce from Pie Ranch and Blue House Farm, and a local brew. Those who wish to enjoy the music and talk only (no dinner) may attend for free—just RSVP using our free ticket below. Additional drinks will be available for purchase at the no-host bar. The event is co-hosted by our friends at Slow Food South Bay

This event is part of POST’s community event series. These events are open to the general public and POST donors alike. We hope you will join us! This dinner is not a fundraiser—ticket prices support the cost of this event. POST also curates a variety of fun, donor-only events.
