Edible Tablescapes: Festive Centerpieces and Place Settings from the Garden

  Detail of the decorative edible table runner shows off the medlar, Niedzwetzkyana and Red Canada apples, Shan Zha (Hawthorn fruit), artichokes and chestnuts from Filoli’s Gentlemen’s Orchard, which add rich dimension and pops of color to the tree branch and shrub greenery. The deep red interior and bitter taste of the rare Niedzwetzkyana apple has inspired some to call them “witches’ apples.”
